Our annual Spifox Golf Classic took place once again at the stunning Renaissance Club on Thursday 16 September.
The sun shone and the course was in magnificent condition.
Sponsored by one of our long-standing supporters the Keenan Consultancy the leaderboard was also full of familiar names. Morrison Construction after a number of years finally triumphed with a fine score of 94 points with Faithful & Gould second on 92 points and the Keenan Consultancy third on 90 points.
We were delighted to have Susan Walker of Tweed Togs join us at the dinner to explain the great work they carry out providing clothing for children in the Scottish Borders.
Overall we managed to raise a record-breaking £18,000 for this worthy beneficiary.
This was as a result of a full number of teams taking part, sponsorship and the generosity of our hosts and guests on the day through raffles,
Beat the Pro and an evening auction.
We also received an unexpected but welcome donation from a party of golfers from St Georges on the Hill who were staying at the club and held a fun competition on the 6th hole.
We would also like to thank Multivista who very kindly provided cocktails from their gazebo on the course.
Finally, we are indebted and extremely grateful to the Renaissance Club. Special thanks to Jerry Sarvadi, Daniel Flannery, Zander Culverwell and JF. They very kindly allow us the use of their first-class facilities and their hard work and support means we are able to provide a successful, unique and memorable golf event.
