Golf Classic

For the first time since its inception in 1989 the Spifox Golf Classic headed west to the splendid Dundonald Links near Irvine.  Despite a short sharp shower mid round the weather was kind to us although the course did provide a severe challenge to all competitors.

A total of 19 teams took part and our thanks as always go to them for their participation.  The top of the leaderboard was a bit of an M&E fest with DSSR coming out on top closely followed by The Keenan Consultancy, KJ Tait and Vipond.  Congratulations to them and our individual winners, for longest drive - Scott Baird, and nearest the pin - Jeremy Milliken (with an outrageous lucky bounce!!!).

This was, of course, a charity event and we are delighted to say that we managed to raise an excellent £8,500 for our nominated Charity, Donaldsons School in Linlithgow.  This will help them acquire a minibus for the School.

Our thanks to all the staff at Dundonald who were extremely helpful throughout the day and to all the organisations who took part or sent donations.  Both Spifox and Donaldsons School greatly appreciate your support.

Preparations are already underway for our 2012 event which sees us return to the Renaissance Club, Dirleton, on Thursday 6th September.
